“Dressing up” birdhouses for a special holiday

I always try to coordinate my porch decorations with the holidays we celebrate, so to transition from Easter to Memorial Day I decided to “dress up” my little birdhouses with remnants of an old tattered little flag that is one of the ones I use to decorate my pots. I made the pattern on a piece of paper and traced that pattern on my fabric. To prevent the fabric from fraying, I traced the outline with a glue on the fabric and after the glue dried out, it was easy to cut the fabric. I then found a shiny silver sash to fasten the “dress” to the birdhouse. Now, if it is not Memorial Day or July 4th or Flag Day, I can “undress” these birdhouses.
